How to Setup MT700 via USB Config Tool

The Mictrack MT700 can be configured over USB using our new, web-based configuration tool. This tool runs directly in your browser—no software or legacy serial tools (like SSCOM) are required.

Supported Models: MT700, MT700-N, MT700-W, MT700-NW, MT700L-EU, MT700L-LA, MT700L-N-EU, MT700L-N-LA.

Supported Browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or any Chromium-based browser.

Install GPS Driver

Before starting, ensure your computer can recognize the MT700 USB configuration cable:

  • Download and install correct USB Driver For MT700 based on your port type from the USB Drivers Folder.
    • Micro USB Port: Download GPS Driver for MT700 (Micro USB)
    • USB-C Port: Download USB Driver For MT700 (USB-C)
  • If the COM port does not appear on Windows 11 after driver installation, please refer to the Windows 11 Driver Fix Guide.

Install SIM Card

  • Prepare the correct SIM card based on your device’s port type:
    • Micro USB Devices: Requires a Micro SIM (3FF)
    • USB-C Devices: Requires a Nano SIM (4FF)
  • Insert the SIM card into the slot with the cut corner oriented correctly, with the contacts facing up.

Warning: Make sure the SIM Card direction is correct, otherwise the SIM slot may be damaged.

Connect to Tracker

  • Power ON the MT700 (indicated by the blue LED light).
  • Connect the USB Config Cable (NOT USB Charging Cable) between the PC and MT700:

Please make sure to use the “USB Config Cable,” or it may not be recognized.

Note: The MT700 Config Cable is customized and is not a standard cable. Please make sure to connect the MT700 with the official MT700 config cable.

Configure Online

  1. Open config.mictrack.com in your Chrome or Edge browser.
  2. Click Scan Ports, select the COM port of your USB cable (usually labeled “USB Serial”), and click Connect.
  3. Once connected, the tool will automatically read your MT700’s current settings.
  4. Enter your APNServer Address, and Port, select your region and desired working mode, and click Apply & Reboot.

FAQ

Why is my port not showing up when I click “Scan Ports”?
You likely haven’t installed the USB driver yet (see Step 1).
Make sure you are using the original USB configuration cable that came with the device. Many standard phone charger cables only transfer power, not data.
Ensure the tracker is powered on and the battery is charged.
Why does connection fail or time out? 
If the tool detects the port but cannot communicate, try turning the tracker off and on again, then click Connect again. The tool will automatically wake up the device.
Why do I get the alert “USB Device not recognized”?
If get the alert when you connect the USB cable to the PC, please check if you use the MT700 Config cable (this is the customized cable not standard)

The MT700 ONLY works with the Config cable.
The device can not get the network and always show the error “CSQ 99“?
To access the network the SIM Card APN is very important if apn is wrong not apn is not setup, the tracker will not access the network, so please make sure apn is correct and then setup apn via sscom tool.
If APN is correct please confirm your sim card support CAT M1, NB-IoT, or both. and then lock to CAT M1 or NB-IoT, and then reboot the tracker. If still fail, please contact us
The device show sim card error how to fix it?
If so maybe the sim card installs wrong, please remove the sim card and insert the sim card again (notice the sim card direction and make the chip face up
How do I query the current setting?
There are two ways to check the settings:
1. SMS command: *RCONF#1##
2. USB command: RCONF,1
